Lewisburg, WR wrestlers have success on first day at MyHOUSE Trojan Wars

On the first day of competition at the MyHOUSE Trojan Wars Tournament in Chambersburg, the area saw a handful of wrestlers advance to Sunday’s championship semifinals.

Among them included Landon Michaels of Lewisburg at 133 pounds. The Green Dragon had a first-round bye before he pinned South Western’s Gavin Lease in 28 seconds and picked up a tough 2-0 decision against Skyline, Virginia’s DJ Mable. Michales then posted a 24-second fall in the championship quarterfinals against Easton’s Nicholas Salamone, the top-seed in the bracket.

Lewisburg’s Landen Wagner is also in the semifinals at 152. The Green Dragon received a first-round bye and beat Redland’s Braden Minnich by fall in 1:25. Wagner followed up with a dominant 17-1, 2:42 tech fall win against Gettysburg’s Blake Haines in the third round before a hard-fought 7-4 decision victory in the quarterfinals against Abai Beishembiev of West Springfield.

Warrior Run senior Reagan Milheim, the program’s all-time wins leader, advanced to the championship semifinals at 160. The American commit received a first-round bye as the top seed and pinned Northern York’s Brayden Slugg in the second round in 2:35. In the third round, Milheim dominated West Branch’s Jaykob Sample in 55 seconds and then pinned Belle Vernon’s Colby Hibner in 2:23.

Johnson followed that, however, in the quarterfinals with a third-period fall in 5:25 against Bald Eagle Area’s Gaige Gardner to advance and drop Garnder into the consolation bracket.

Gardner was the top seed in the field and received two byes. In the third round, Gardner pinned Downingtown West’s Ryder Harlan in 1:10 before falling to Johnson. Gardner is three wins away in the consolations from wrestling for third.
