PSU’s Ioane, Allen earn All-American
Redshirt junior offensive lineman Olaivavega Ioane and senior running back Kaytron Allen were recognized as All-Americans by the Associated Press on Monday. Ioane was a second-team selection, while Allen picked up third-team honors.
Allen is the 159th Nittany Lion (193rd selection) to be named an All-American by an NCAA-recognized outlet (AFCA, Associated Press, FWAA, The Sporting News, Walter Camp Football Foundation).
Ioane earned his second All-American nod this year. He was recognized as a second-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation on December 13.
Penn State has had an All-American in 53 of the last 59 years. The Nittany Lions have an All-American selection in each of the last five seasons.
Ioane played in 44 games and made 32 starts at Penn State and has allowed no sacks with three pressures in 310 pass blocking snaps in 2025. He also owns an 89.8 pass blocking grade from PFF, third-best among the Power 4 guards.
Ioane helped Allen to rank sixth in the country in rushing yards (1,303), seventh rushing yards per game (108.6) and rushing touchdowns (15). He helped Penn State to gain 400-plus total yards in five games and 200-plus rushing yards in five games.
Allen became Penn State’s all-time career rushing leader at Penn State (4,180), passing Evan Royster (3,932, 2007-10).
Allen has five 100-yard rushing games this year, including four in Big Ten play and became the first Nittany Lion with four 100-yard rushing games against Big Ten opponents since Miles Sanders in 2018.
