Warrior Run’s Milheim, Wirnsberger take titles at MyHOUSE Trojan Wars

The MyHOUSE Trojan Warns Tournament in Chambersburg took place over the weekend, with the medal rounds concluding on Sunday afternoon. And for Warrior Run, the Defenders saw two wrestlers walk away with a title and another a runner-up finish.

Reagan Milheim (160) and Max Wirnsberger (172) both captured titles at their respective weights on Sunday.

Milheim out-worked The Hill School’s Arment Waltenbaugh and picked up a tough 8-4 decision victory for the win. A weight later, Wirnsberger defeated West Chester Rustin’s AJ Corp via decision, 4-1 SV-1.

Milheim, the program’s all-time wins leader, advanced to the championship semifinals at 160. The American commit received a first-round bye as the top seed and pinned Northern York’s Brayden Slugg in the second round in 2:35. In the third round, Milheim dominated West Branch’s Jaykob Sample in 55 seconds and then pinned Belle Vernon’s Colby Hibner in 2:23.

The Defender’ Noah Johnson took silver at 285 as he lost to Fairfield’s Caleb Tyler by decision, 4-1 SV-1. Johnson pinned Bangor Area’s Hunter Hopstetter in the second round in the championship bracket a day prior in 2:12 before beating Easton Area’s Kurtis Crossman by decision in a close matchup, 4-0. Johnson followed that, however, in the quarterfinals with a third-period fall in 5:25 against Bald Eagle Area’s Gaige Gardner to advance and drop Garnder into the consolation bracket.

Lewisburg’s Landon Michaels ended as a fourth-place finisher at 133 pounds as he came up shy in the third-place match. Michaels was pinned by Easton’s Nicholas Salamone in the second period in 3:49.

Lewisburg’s Landen Wagner took bronze at 152 after a dominant tech fall win against Big Spring’s Cord Hetrick, 21-5, 4:54.

Warrior Run’s Chase Wirnsberger took eighth after losing a tough matchup at 133 by decision to Owen J. Robert’s Carter Soto, 3-1.

Lewisburg’s Ethan Long was an eighth-place finisher at 160 when he lost by major to West Springfield’s Hayden Carl, 11-1.
