Clover Lindsay started Tuesday’s diving competition between her and Allie Eberhart and scored three 6s with her first dive attempt. By her final dive of the day, she posted a 5 1/2, 6 and 6 1/2. In other words, Lindsay started the meet solid and ended strong to walk away with a win at home in diving competition on Tuesday.
It was a solid performance from both the defending District 2-4 Class AAA diving champion and runner-up. Lindsay and Eberhart were the only two divers in attendance as Wellsboro and Lewisburg had no divers compete.
Lindsay won the diving competition with a score of 183.40 while Eberhart finished in second place with a score of 150.15.
The reigning District 2-4 Class AAA diving champion scored all 6s with her first dive of an inward dive, pike position. On her second attempt — an inward dive, one-and-one-half somersault, tuck position — the Millionaire scored 5 1/2, 5 1/2 and 6.
Through her six dive attempts, Lindsay’s lowest score was on her fourth — a reverse dive, one somersault, tuck position — in which she scored 5, 4 1/2, 4 1/2. Every other dive attempt, however, consisted of at least 5 1/2.

Her third dive was a forward dive, one-and-one-half somersault, pike position which netted her three 6s and her fifth dive was a back dive, one somersault, one-and-one-half twist, free position which scored 5 1/2s across the board.
Eberhart had solid performances in the diving competition as well for Williamsport.
Eberhart started the day with a 5 1/2, 6 and 6 on her first attempt. She had a 5, 5 1/2, 5 on her second dive which was an inward dive, one somersault, tuck position. On her third attempt — a back dive, straight position — she had two 4 1/2s and a 5. She followed it with all 4 1/2s when attempting a reverse dive, tuck position.
Eberhart rebounded well with her fifth attempt and while attempting a forward dive, one-and-one-half somersault, pike position, Eberhart scored a 6, 5, 5 1/2. Her final dive saw her score a 4, 4 5 1/2 on a forward dive, one somersault, one twist, free position.
Lindsay and Eberhart both had outstanding seasons last year for the Millionaires. Last winter Clover won the district title with a score of 215.25 while Eberhart, a sophomore this season, scored 174.60 to take silver at the district meet.

Both divers have gotten better overall since last winter and Tuesday’s first diving competition was a great example of that as they look to keep their solid performances going with a home tri-meet on Saturday against DuBois and Holy Redeemer at 11 a.m.
