Milton saw a pair of girl swimmers and a boy swimmer take first in a tri-meet against Selinsgrove and Bloomsburg on Thursday.

On the girls side, Milton beat Selinsgrove, 103-61, and lost to Bloomsburg, 88-82. The Milton boys beat Selinsgrove, 71-20, and lost to Bloomsburg, 76-53.

Milton’s Larissa Rovenolt swam a 27.33 to win the girls 50 free, edging out Jordyn Maloney of Bloomsburg by 0.26 seconds in a tight race. Rovenolt took third in the 100 free with a time of 1:02.23, trailing only Selinsgrove’s Sawyer Kovashetz (59.29) and Maloney (1:00.46).

Morga Cohoon of Milton was a first-place finisher in the 500 free with a time of 6:08.03, winning by nearly two seconds over Bloomsburg’s Audrey Reuter. Milton’s Claire Dick took fifth in 7:28.85 and Milton’s Grace Snyder was sixth in 9:01.74.

Milton’s Megan Stahlnecker, Kaylee Mortimer, Clara Stoudt and Rovenolt took second in the 200 free relay in 1:59.72 and trailed only Bloomsburg’s foursome of 1:48.95. In the 400 free relay, Milton’s Cohoon, Julia Stahlnecker, Stoudt and Rachel Goocey took second in 4:15.73.

On the boys side, the Black Panthers’ Nolan Scheller won a close race by less than a second in the boys 100 fly against Bloomsburg’s Chase Moore as both swimmers broke a minute. Scheller swam a 54.53 to win while Moore swam a 55.74. Milton’s Maso Cohoon took third with a time of 1:03.71.

In the 100 free, Milton took home a second- and third-place finish in the event. Grayson Reck of BLoomsburg won in 50.17 while Godown took second in 1:11.26 and Irwin was third in 1:14.47.

Milton’s Logan Irwin was a third-place finisher in the 100 back in 1:31.70.

Milton’s Mason Cohoon, Silas Godown, Spencer Hutton and Scheller took second in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:51.26 and were behind only Bloomsburg’s team which won in 1:35.68.

Milton’s Mason Cohoon took second in 1:15.41 in the 100 breast and was behind only Chase Moore of Bloomsburg, who swam a 1:02.25. Spencer Hutton of Milton was third in 1:38.29.

Hughesville had independent swimmers compete during Thursday’s tri-meet.

Ashlynn Barlett swam a time of 2:19.76 in the 200 free and swam a time of 1:18.81 in the 100 breast. Evelynn Meckbach swam in the 50 free and swam a time of 29.92 and swam a time of 1:06.01 in the 100 free.

Independent swimmer times don’t count for finishes in duals, tri-meets or invitationals, but count toward district qualifying and seeding.
