Summers wins two events as Williamsport competes at Cumberland Valley
Williamsport’s Evan Summers was the Millionaires’ only swimmer to claim two events in Saturday’s road swimming dual against Cumberland Valley on Saturday morning. The boys lost to Cumberland Valley, 116-63, while the girls lost, 132-51.
Summers won the boys 200 IM with a time of 2:03.48, winning by roughly five seconds over Cumberland Valley’s Will Pesavento (2:08.07). Williamsport’s Cooper Allmaras took third in 2:11.92. Summers also then swam a 1:01.12 in the 100 breast to not only win the event, but record a district-qualifying time in the process. He won the event by nearly six seconds over teammate Evan Weaver (1:07.62).
In the 100 back, Williamsport saw Cooper Allmaras swim a time of 59.85 to win the event, the only swimmer to go below a minute in the event. Nathaniel DePrenda took fourth in 1:06.25 for Williamsport and Brian Love-Ritchey finished fifth (1:08.49).
The Millionaires saw Brady Ross hit a district-qualifying time of 21.84 in the boys 50 free to take second, behind only Cumberland Valley’s Wyatt Boland (21.42). Ross was a second-place finisher in the boys 100 free in a tight race in which Wyatt Boland of Cumberland Valley won in 48.07, hitting a district qualifying time. Ross swam a 48.82 for second.
Williamsport’s team of Cooper Allmaras, Evan Summers, Nathaniel DePrenda and Brady Ross swam a time of 1:42.94 to win the boys 200 medley relay by four seconds.
Love-Ritchey was a fourth-place finisher in the 100 fly in 1:04.76 and Aiden Li took fifth for Williamsport in 1:09.42.
In the boys 200 free relay, Williamsport’s Allmaras, DePrenda, Summers and Ross swam a time of 1:33.47 to take second and were just two seconds behind Cumberland Valley’s winning team which won in 1:31.78.
The girls 100 free race saw the top three swimmers break a minute as Mary Bone of Cumberland Valley won in 54.08 and Williamsport’s Aviya Halstead took third with a time of 56.76, just a second behind second-place finisher Josy Ruiz of Cumberland Valley.
Williamsport had a pair of top-3 finishers in the girls 500 free. Kiley Persun took second in 5:41.15 and Miley Johnson finished third in 5:53.07. Olivia Godfrey finished fifth in 6:44.10. Cumberland Valley’s Aubrey Cramer won the event in 5:27.50.
Diver Allie Eberhart had a solid performance and scored a 172.90 to take second place behind only Cumberland Valley’s Mattie Boone, who scored a 238.45.
Williamsport’s Aviya Halstead was a third-place finisher in the 50 free with a time of 26.02 as Cumberland Valley’s Mary Boone won in 24.51.
Miley Johnson was a third-place finisher in the girls 200 free with a time of 2:13.28.
In the 200 free relay, the team of Halstaed, Johnson, Annie Ross and Persun swam a 1:48.70 to take second place, just eight seconds behind Cumberland Valley.
Williamsport’s Addison Hill was third in 1:14.28 in the 100 back. In the 100 breast, Annie Ross took third in 1:17.32 and Kyla Becker was fourth in 1:19.73. Williamsport also saw Lynnae Campbell take fifth with a time of 1:27.62 in the event.
The Millionaires’ team of Addison Hill, Sarah Carothers, Kyla Becker and Miley Johnson took second in 4:16.53 in the 400 free relay.
