Pair of Lycoming players reach double figures in loss to Susquehanna

Junior Hayden Pardoe, a Central Mountain graduate, scored 15 points and freshman Noa’Sosa Friedman added 13 to lead the Lycoming College men’s basketball team, which fell 78-59 in a Landmark Conference contest to Susquehanna University on Saturday at Houts Gymnasium.

Susquehanna (11-10, 7-7) jumped out to a pair of six-point leads early on in the contest, but Lycoming (6-15, 2-12) used a 6-0 spurt to tie the game at 19 apiece on a Pardoe 3-pointer with 5:41 to go in the first half. The River Hawks, though, closed the half on a 15-8 run to take a seven-point lead into the break. After halftime, the River Hawks expanded the lead to double figures.

Pardoe finished with 15 points and three rebounds, hitting a pair of 3-pointers, while Friedman poured in 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting, plus six rebounds and a pair of steals. Freshman Charlie Sims scored five points and pulled down a career-high nine rebounds while dishing out three assists.

Mario Castro Sanchez led Susquehanna with 17 points, including four threes, with Brandon Lavitt adding 14 points and nine rebounds and Billy Anderson also scoring 14 points.

The Warriors will be back on action with a Landmark Conference matchup on Wednesday against Scranton. Tip-off from Lamade Gym is scheduled for 7 p.m.
