WAHS athletes have solid performance at Indoor State Championships at PSU
Williamsport’s track and field athletes closed out the indoor season with outstanding performances at the Indoor State Championships held at Penn State University. The Millionaires competed against the very best athletes in Pennsylvania as Classes AA, AAA and private schools were all combined, proving they belong among the elite.
Levi Gair soared to a new personal record and a third-place finish in the pole vault by clearing an impressive 15 feet, 0 inches. Isabelle Sanders placed fifth in the 1,600 with a time of 4:57.12. Madeline Sanders once again broke the five-minute barrier in the mile by running 4:58.71 to earn a seventh-place medal.
Isabelle Morrow earned fourth place in the high jump with a height of 5-5.
The Millionaires distance medley relay team of junior Madeline Sanders, freshman Mila Veldhuis, freshman Loisa Hofstrom and junior Isabelle Sanders ran a PR of 12:10.65, placing fourth at the state meet and climbing the national rankings.
These performances reflect the dedication, grit, and commitment Williamsport’s athletes have shown all season long. Competing on the state stage with all classifications combined is an achievement in itself — earning podium finishes and national recognition makes it even more impressive.
