ALTOONA —Central Mountain’s Josiah Allert and Sofia Kelly turned in solid performances at the District 6 track and field championships at Mansion Park. Allert took home a silver medal in the boys high jump, securing the highest finish at districts for a Central Mountain athlete. Led by Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year, junior Alex Halbert, seven Lycoming College baseball players earned a school-record eight selections on the All-Landmark Conference team, the league office announced. Seniors Trace Wertz and Andrew Walter made their final games at South Williamsport quite memorable Wednesday afternoon. Wertz his his first high school home run in his final at-bat there, while Walter went 2 for 2 with three runs as South routed North Penn-Mansfield, 13-1 in five innings. Freshman Garrett Lorson also had two hits and earned his first pitching win, throwing three strong innings.
