Shore’s Fink, Loyalsock’s Lin reach District 4 singles tournament semifinals

Jersey Shore’s Ryder Fink is one step closer to earning a repeat District 4 singles title. On Monday, Fink went 2-0 in his matches competed in to advance to the District 4 singles semifinals, which will be played on Wednesday afternoon. Fink will face Bayley Poll of Towanda, the fourth-seed in the tournament while Danville’s David Sommer, the third seed, faces second-seeded Elijah Lin of Loyalsock in the other semifinal. South Williamsport boys tennis falls to Selinsgrove in team tournament 3-2

South Williamsport fell in the preliminary round against Selinsgrove at home on Tuesday, 3-2. The win by the Seals advanced Selinsgrove to Thursday's quarterfinals where they will face top-seeded Jersey Shore. South Williamsport's Dylan Webb earned a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles against Joaquin Basu. Webb's victory was the lone singles win for the Mounties. Kegler’s Korner: Becker, Gridley earn Bowler of Week nods

This week’s Bowlers of the Week are Nick Becker and Stacy Gridley. While Becker’s 802 in the Lycoming Engines League was his third 800 series of the season, Gridley’s 744 was her second consecutive 700 series in the Brenda Welshans Memorial League. These two bowlers also garnered high game honors, with Gridley building her big series with a 288 game, and Becker tossing a 287 in his top series. At 13-4 overall, and tying its most successful regular season in program history set a year ago, the Penn College men’s lacrosse team finds itself in a familiar position as it heads into the United East Conference playoffs for the sixth consecutive season under coach Jordan Williams.
