West End all-stars win games on Day 2 at regional tournaments

West End’s 13-16-year-old all-star team picked up another win in the Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament. A day after cruising past Atlantic Shore, 12-0, West End had to battle hard to beat Lackawanna in a close contest, 5-4. The win moves West End to 2-0 in pool play. Four Lycoming College men's tennis players earned International Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete status - senior Luke Taylor, junior Keegan Gill, sophomore Kayvan Shams - a South Williamsport graduate - and first-year Lucas Bower - a St. John Neumann graduate, the organization announced. For the sixth straight year, the Lycoming College women's tennis program earned the International Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award while four student-athletes - senior Greta Kimble - a South Williamsport graduate, sophomore Reyna Kirick, senior Emma Kelchner and senior Hannah Wood earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status, the organization announced.
