Nurse charged with allegedly stealing patient’s pill at area nursing center

Just one day before her 55th birthday, Jennifer Alice Qimby, a nurse who worked for less than two weeks as a nurse at Williamsport South Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at 101 Leader Driver, was charged with stealing one oxycodone from one of her patients at the medical facility overnight July 17, state police alleged in a criminal complaint. Quimby, who is actually employed by a nursing agency, has denied the accusation, police said.

Living now at a motel in Danville, Quimby has been arraigned before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on a felony charge of illegally obtaining a controlled substance while employed at a medical facility, possession of a controlled substance and theft. She was released on $35,000 bail.
