Driver injured in rollover crash near Clarkstown

CLARKSTOWN – Route 442 from Neufer Hollow to Laidecker roads was closed for part of Thursday afternoon after the driver of a pickup truck lost control of the vehicle and overturned, about 1.5 miles east of here, just before 2 p.m., according to state police.

The driver, who climbed out of the wreckage on his own, was traveling east on Route 442 when his truck went off the road, sheared a utility pole and overturned at least once before landing on its passenger side, police said.

The driver, who was believed to be in his 30s, was taken by ambulance to UPMC Williamsport to get treated for his injuries, police said.

A PPL crew got on the scene just before 3 to start making necessary repairs. A towing company soon arrived and began cleaning up the wreckage.

Volunteer fire police detoured traffic off of Route 442 until about 3:15 p m when one lane was re-opened.
