Firefighters battle two-alarm Hughesville house fire

HUGHESVILLE – Volunteer firefighters were battling a two-alarm house fire at 152 N. Main St. that broke out about 8 p.m. Thursday.

There were reports of smoke showing from the property as well flames from a bathroom.
A second-alarm was ordered about 8:15 p.m., but the fire was declared under control 10 minutes later. Some fire companies were recalled or directed to standby at the firehouse for other possible emergency calls.
It was unknown if anyone was in the house at the time of the fire.
A section of North Main Street was closed because of the fire.
