Police need public’s help in hit-run injury accident
Williamsport police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the vehicle and the driver who fled the scene of a pedestrian accident Thursday morning in the city’s Newberry neighborhood that sent a 7-year-old boy to the hospital.
The child was crossing from the north side to the south side in the middle of the street when he was hit in the 2500 block of West Fourth Street about 830 a.m., police said.
The youngster was hit by what was believed to be a black sedan, whose driver kept going, police said.
The driver was heading west, police were told.
The boy suffered lower-body injuries and was recovering after being taken by ambulance to UPMC Williamsport, police said.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the car or driver to call 570-433-3166.
