Seven killed in Mill Hall fire
MILL HALL – Seven family members were killed Sunday morning in a devastating blaze that enveloped their home along Long Run Road, just east of Salona, state police confirmed to WNEP.
State police told the television station that the fire, which occurred about 8:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Long Run Road in Lamar Township, involved propane and that there may have been an explosion, but that could0 not be confirmed.
When volunteer firefighters arrived on the scene, the entire home was engulfed in flames. While en route, emergency responders were told there were reports of multiple people trapped in the inferno, but there was nothing firefighters could do to reach them.
Clinton County Coroner Zack Hanna was alerted and responded to the scene. Besides Clinton County, firefighters from both Lycoming and Centre counties also worked together in fighting the blaze, which took quite a while to bring under control.
All questions about the tragic fire were being directed to the state police, who had fire marshals at the scene for much of the day. No other details were valuable Sunday night.
