Prison Cell
Timothy Rochelle Caraway Jr., 27, of Charlotte, North Carolina, has been locked up on firearm and drugs charges after Lycoming Regional police found him carrying without a permit a handgun loaded with 10 rounds in the 3700 block of Lycoming Creek Road about 1 a.m. on Jan,. 15, according to court records. He was a passenger in a 2019 Kia Forte that police stopped to investigate after seeing it parked in a lot of a closed business. “There was a strong odor of raw marijuana” coming from inside the car, police said. When a trooper patted down Caraway for any possible weapons, the loaded handgun was discovered. He told the trooper that the weapon “was not properly transferred and was more than likely stolen prior to his purchase,” it was stated in an affidavit. Police also seized 10 bags of marijuana labeled “strawberry delight,” that were found in a backpack in the vehicle. Caraway admitted that he had purchased the marijuana in Rochester. Following his arraignment before Solomon on a felony charge of carrying a firearm without a permit, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Caraway was jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.
