Lycoming 12 new COVID-19 cases

HARRISBURG -The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of 12:00 a.m., July 4, that there are 634 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 89,375. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19. Lycoming County has had 208 positive cases to date, Clinton 80 cases, Sullivan ten cases and Tioga 26 cases. There are 6,749 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 3 new deaths reported. There are 725,448 patients who have tested negative to date statewide. Watsontown chief clarifies — troopers not at rally

Lawmakers not on board with court decision

Local lawmakers were less than enthusiastic over a state Supreme Court ruling this week rejecting a resolution to terminate Gov. Tom Wolf’s coronavirus disaster declaration. In the ruling, the high court rejected the argument that the Republican-controlled Legislature can unilaterally prevent the governor’s emergency powers by resolution. “I think it’s unfortunate when politics come into law,” state Rep. LCWSA won’t penalize nonpayment for June

Lycoming County water and sewer customers unable to pay their monthly bills were once again given a reprieve. Failure to pay monthly charges will not result in shut-offs of water and sewer services, the Lycoming County Water and Sewer Authority decided Wednesday. COVID-19 has posed difficulties for people meeting their regular expenses, resulting in a decision earlier this year to forgive customers for non-payments, according to Executive Director Christine Weigle.
