Montoursville couple honors 60th anniversary

Robert “Bob” and Barbara Pace, of rural Montoursville, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 9. They were married by Rev. T. Otto Borr at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Williamsport. They are active parishioners of the St. Boniface Church. Bob is the son of Walter “Wally” and Esther (Smithgall) Pacacha, of Williamsport. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1955. Charlie and Carol Tacka, of Bastress, observed their 50th anniversary on July 11. They were married by Rev. Joseph Fox at the Immaculate Conception Church in Bastress in 1970, where they are members. The former Carol Lorson is the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Lorson. She graduated from Jersey Shore High School and retired from Saint John Neumann’s cafeteria. Blossburg couple honors anniversary

Edward and Elaine Modrzejewski, of Blossburg, will celebrate their 50th anniversary today, July 18. They are members of St. Mary’s Parish, Blossburg. The former Elaine Bennett is the daughter of Flo Bennett, of Montrose, and the late Lester Bennett. Edward is the son of the late Janet and John Modrzejewski. They have one daughter, Krista Morley, and one son, Craig Modrzejewski. They have five grandchildren and two granddogs.

William E. and Doris L. Messersmith, of Montoursville, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 17, 2020. They were married in First Presbyterian Church, Northumberland, by Rev. Edward Myers. Mr. Messersmith is the son of the late Clarence and Verona Messersmith. He graduated from Danville High School in 1955 and Penn State in 1960.
