History author taking part in Preservation Williamsport fundraiser
Guy Graybill, author of “Prohibition’s Prince: The Bizarre Life of America’s Millionaire Moonshiner,” will be featured at Preservation Williamsport’s fundraiser ‘Casino Evil’ from 5:30 to 10 p.m. April 18 at Farrington Place, 416 W. Third St., Williamsport.
Graybill graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in history and spent three decades in Middleburg as a history teacher.
After retiring from Middleburg, he was elected to a four-year term as chairman of the board of commissioners of Snyder County.
In March, Graybill was a special guest speaker at a large banquet of retirees on his other area book, a biography of ” Henry Shoemaker: Scoundrel of the Susquehanna.” According to a news release, Graybill’s publisher, at Sunbury Press, says “Prohibition’s Prince, in all of its editions and printings remains the top selling book of Sunbury Press all time.”
Both books, along with his other six titles, will be available for purchase at Casino Evil, according to the news release.
Tickets for Casino Evil can be purchased in advance at www.PreservationWilliamsport.com or in person at Fink’s Paint Store, The Peter Herdic House and Keystone Furniture Restoration.
