League to offer figure drawing class again
The Bald Eagle Art League will host another figure drawing class from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Jan. 7 at the Thomas Taber Historical Museum, 858 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.
Allison Dabback will be our clothed model again.
“Allison has a passion for dance and creativity,” a news release from the league said. “She has been taking dance lessons at Katie Benson School of Dance, formerly known as Judy Hakes School of Dance for over 18 years. Allison started when she was 3 years old and continued her dancing career throughout high school and college. Although she does not currently take classes, she continues her dancing career through teaching students at the Katie Benson School of Dance. … What an opportunity figure drawing is to build on your drawing skills!”
The class will teach how to do sketch quickly and to “draw what you see, not what you think you see,” the news release said. “Live figure drawing is both fun and challenging.”
Deb Trate will moderate the class. An avid horse lover, she paints mostly equestrian subjects. She has had several of her paintings selected for the Benton Rodeo brochure covers, artwork for The Western Slope Royal Clinic, The Williamsport Riding Club logo and numerous other paintings.
At the meeting, drawing paper and pencils will be supplied. The league encourages participants to bring their own materials, paper, pencils, pastels or markers that they enjoy using.
