Two locked up on assault charges in separate cases
When state troopers arrived at the motel room at Econo Lodge, 2019 E. Third St., to investigate a domestic disturbance about 12:45 a.m. Saturday, “there was fresh blood on Megan Rinehart’s clothing body. There also was blood on the bedroom and bathroom floors,” according to an affidavit.
The blood, police said, was that of Rinehart’s boyfriend, who had left the scene, taken by a friend to UPMC Williamsport, where he was treated for stab wounds Rinehart, 34, of Avis, allegedly inflicted with a fork.
Arraigned before District Judge Christian Frey on charges of simple assault and harassment, Rinehart was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $7,500 bail.
In another assault case, John Arthur Drummond Jr., 39, of 419 W. Edwin St., was jailed on charges of simple assault, indecent assault and harassment following an incident with a female acquaintance on Warren Avenue in Loyalsock Township on Monday, state police said.
Following his arraignment hours later before District Judge Gary Whiteman, he was jailed in lieu of $7,500 bail.
