Fugitive nabbed in Muncy Creek Township apartment
When members of the Lycoming Sheriff’s Department and county probation officers arrived at Wayne Robert Jacobs’ apartment at 2899 Lime Bluff Road in Muncy Creek Township on the afternoon of Jan. 9, they took the 52-year-old fugitive into custody on a total of four bench warrants that had been filed because of a variety of criminal matters. At the time, Jacobs, who was hiding in the bathroom, was carrying in his pants pocket a handgun, which he is prohibited from possessing because of his arrest record, according to court records. The officers seized the firearm as well as a vial of methamphetamine that was found on the bathroom floor, it was stated in an affidavit. Following his arraignment last week before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on a felony charge of carrying a firearm without a license, illegal possession of a firearm, fugitive from justice and possession of a controlled substance, Jacobs, who was automatically jailed on the day of his apprehension, was recommitted in lieu of $50,000 bail.
