JERSEY SHORE – Motorists traveling Route 220 North were detoured around an accident at the Main Street interchange, where the driver, Lathan Meredith, 36, of Williamsport, climbed out of the cab with the assistance of a passerby, police said. He was treated at UPMC Williamsport and discharged.
It was unknown what caused the him to lose control of the truck. Bressler’s Towing brought special equipment to clean the spilled load. The limestone was loaded into a second dump truck that was brought to the scene.
Northbound motorists were directed off the highway, but could easily get back on since the crash took place between the exit and the Main Street on-ramp. Drivers were advised to use caution. The state Department of Transportation also responded to crash and was assisting with the detour.
