Jersey Shore man charged after allegedly firing rifle into the air, upset with neighbor’s fireworks

David Boyd Murray Sr., 74, of 156 Shady Lane, Jersey Shore, has been charged with terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment after “violently shooting” a rifle in the sky outside his Porter Township home because he was very upset with the continued setting off of fireworks in his neighborhood on the night of July 1, it was alleged in a Lycoming Regional police affidavit. One person told police that before firing the firearm, Murray began yelling outside his window, saying he was going to grab his gun and shoot it if the fireworks did not stop, police said. Murray, arraigned before District Judge William Solomon, was initially jailed, but has since been released on $25,000 bail. He has waived his preliminary hearing on these charges.
