Lycoming County Prison Inmate now faces intimidation of of witness charge

On a recorded telephone line, Lycoming County Prison inmate Reginald Jonathan Morton contacted a witness in an upcoming drug case and told the individual “You better stop before someone smokes you out there,” and “Somebody’s going to pop your stupid (expletive),” it was alleged in an affidavit filed by a detective assigned to the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit. Morton, 39, jailed on drug charges since early July of last year, allegedly made the call from the prison on June 19, the investigator said. Morton, of 337 Walnut St., was arraigned last week before District Judge Aaron Biichle on a misdemeanor charge of intimidation of a witness, and recommitted in lieu of an additional $25,000 bail.
