Two men charged following “mutual combat” confrontation

Douglas Ray Vroman, 66, and Damon Louise Faivre, 48, both face charges for assaulting one another in a domestic disturbance in which the two engaged in what state police called “mutual combat” at their then home on Green Hill Road in McIntyre Township on July 27, it was stated in an affidavit. Faivre left the house, but soon returned, forcing his way into the second floor, where Vroman grabbed a rifle and struck Faivre in the neck and chest, police alleged. The two men wrestled one another to the floor, briefly separated and then Vroman grabbed the barrel of the rifle and struck Faivre in the head with such force it “broke the wooden stock of the rifle,” police said.
“Faivre had visible injuries from the strikes and had a large amount of blood on his face,” it was stated in an affidavit. While Faivre was being treated in the back of an ambulance by an emergency responder, he attempted to grab the worker’s neck in a choking manner, it was alleged. In the fight with Vroman, Faivre suffered fractures to his face and ribs as well as lacerations to above his eye and on the top of his head, police alleged.
Vroman, of 253 Green Hill Road has been charged with aggravated and simple assault, terroristic threats and possession of an instrument of crime. Arraigned before District Judge William Solomon, he remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail. He was held for court last week on all charges. Faivre, of 3731 Lycoming Creek Road, has been charged with aggravated and simple assault as well as one count of terroristic threats, and is free on $25,000 bail. He waived his preliminary hearing before Solomon.
