A Bloomsburg resident has been charged failing to update his address within the state Sexual Offender Registry Tool, according to a state police affidavit.

Bautista Lee Bonett, 61, currently jailed at the Columbia County Prison, is a required to register his address with the state, due to a 1991 rape conviction, and has verified his address multiple times since 2012, making him aware of what was required of him, court documents said.

During an investigation, initiated by a tip, it was learned that Bonett’s last verified address was in Shickshinny, however his present residence was allegedly in the 6000 block of Route 15 in Clinton Township.

An interview with Bonett’s girlfriend and a receptionist at the residence confirmed that Bonett had been living at the residence since Feb. 19, 2025. Payment records showed that Bonett was present at the residence during that time, court documents said.

Bonett was arraigned on a charge of failure to register with state police by District Judge Kirsten Gardner, and jailed on 35,000 bail.
