Williamsport man charged after allegedly assaulting hospital staff

Shariff Ibn Madrun Jenkins, 45, of 18 Catherine St., faces aggravated assault and related charges after he allegedly struck a patient care technician at UPMC Williamsport on Oct. 15, 2025, court documents said.
The alleged victim passed Jenkins as she was headed to get a coffee, and shortly after, heard running and change jingling, she told police.
Jenkins then appeared and allegedly slapped the alleged victim across the face and walked away, according to court documents.
During questioning by UPMC police, Jenkins allegedly admitted to striking the alleged victim, and knowing that she was an employee of the hospital due to her being in uniform, court filings said.
Jenkins was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment by District Judge Gary Whiteman and remanded to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
