Several arraigned before Lycoming County district judges
Hughesville area woman charged with shoplifting
Tanya Rae Zwolinski, 35, of 5208 Route 220, Hughesville, has been charged with misdemeanor shoplifting after she stole $5 worth of clothing from Two Olde Crows Variety Shoppe, 2168 Route 442, Muncy, on Oct. 27, state police alleged in an affidavit.
She waived her preliminary hearing last week before District Judge Kirsten Gardner and is free on $5,000 bail. This was her second shoplifting offense, police said.
City man allegedly had inappropriate contact with a minor
Following a preliminary hearing earlier this month before District Judge Christian Frey, Colin Best, 40, of Williamsport, was held for court on two counts each of indecent assault, attempted indecent assault and corrupting the morals of a minor for allegedly having inappropriate contact on “two to three occasions” with a female juvenile last year on Grace Street, according to court documents filed by city police. He remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Teenager charged with identity theft
As a minor last year, Quaran-Haddith Fisher was detained by court order at a juvenile detention facility, but he was given “a Christmas home pass” for the holiday season, it was stated in a court document. However, Fisher, who turned 18 in mid-March, never returned to the detention center so a bench warrant for his apprehension was filed on Jan. 10.
City police caught up with him when they stopped a motorist in the 600 block of Second Street during the early morning of Aug. 7, it was stated in an affidavit. He was one of several youths inside the vehicle, and was taken into custody for giving a false identification and date of birth to officers, police said.
He was taken to a family member’s home, but the relative refused to tell investigators the teen’s real identity, police added. Officers did eventually learn his true identity, and have since charged him with identity theft, false reports to law enforcement and escape (for failure to return to the detention center).
Fisher, of 412 Louisa St., waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday before Frey and remains free on $10,000 bail.
