Lycoming County district judges kept busy with variety of cases
Two women charged in separate shoplifting cases
Dawn Aurora Welch, 61, of 752 Krouse Ave., has been charged with felony shoplifting after she was caught Wednesday allegedly stealing $41 worth of merchandise from the Goodwill Store at Park Avenue and Hepburn Street, city police said. This was her third or subsequent shoplifting charge, police said. Following her arraignment before District Judge Christian Frey, she was released on $10,000 bail.
In another case, Jeri Jeanette Wagoner, 44, of 1035 Memorial Ave., has been charged with misdemeanor shoplifting after she was caught allegedly trying to flee Wagmans, 201 William St., with $21 worth of merchandise on Jan. 29, city police alleged in court documents filed at the office of District Judge Aaron Biichle. She is free on $5,000 bail after waiving her preliminary hearing.
South Side motorist charged with hit-run
After crashing head-on into an oncoming vehicle while passing another car in a no-passing zone on Route 15, near Blind Road. in Clinton Township about 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, motorist Larisha Joleen Moore, 27, fled the scene in her 2002 Pontiac Sunfire, state police alleged in an affidavit. However, two witnesses followed Moore and not only obtained the license plate on the car, but one of them took a photo of her, police said. One of the witnesses told Moore, of 702 Route 15, apartment 2, South Williamsport, that she had to return to the crash scene. There were no reports of injuries.
Moore, who did not have a driver’s license nor did she have any insurance on Pontiac, has been charged with accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle (hit-run) plus eight summary offenses. She has since waived her preliminary hearing before District Judge Kirsten Gardner and is free on $2,500 bail.
Two men jailed following separate domestic disturbances
Following a domestic disturbance at his Picture Rock home about 6:50 p.m. on April 10, Michaelreese Kulaga, 31, was arrested on assault-related charges and locked up in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to state police. During the incident, Kulaga, of 72 Railroad St., put his hands around his girlfriend’s mother’s throat, interfering with her breathing, police alleged. He also struck a male with a broom, police alleged. Arraigned before Gardner on charges of felony strangulation, simple assault and three counts of harassment. He has since waived his preliminary hearing and remains jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Also jailed on criminal offenses stemming from another domestic disturbance was Brent Tyler Painter, 34, of 176 Harvest Moon Park, Linden, who faces charges of simple assault, harassment and possession of suboxone after he allegedly bit his girlfriend’s right cheek at her home on McGill Hollow Road in Woodward Township on Saturday. Following his arraignment before District Judge William Solomon, Painter was jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Second parent charged in child endangerment case
Kevin Michael Woodling, 39, of 3731 Lycoming Creek Road, lot T3, has been charged with felony endangering the welfare of a children for “failing to know where his two children, ages 3 and 8, were located during multiple incidents between Aug. 9 and March 25,” Lycoming Regional police alleged in a criminal complaint filed at Solomon’s office. He has since waived his preliminary hearing and is free on $15,000 bail.
The children’s mother, Linsey Mae Woodling, 31, of the same address, was charged earlier this month with the same felony offense, and she too has since waived her preliminary hearing and is free on bail. Her last name was misspelled in a previous article.
