Variety of charges levied across Lycoming County
City man arrested for providing false statement to purchase firearm
State police have charged Anthony Logan, 63, of 450 Center St., Apt. 418, with providing a false written statement in the sale or transfer of a firearm and making false statements after he allegedly lied when he attempted to purchase a Glock 21 9mm frame at a gunshop in Loyalsock Township on Oct. 17, 2025, according to court documents.
While filling out ATF form 4473, Logan allegedly answered “no” to the question, “Have you ever been convicted in any court, including a military court, of a felony, or any other crime for which the judge could have imprisoned you for more than one year, even if you received a shorter sentence including probation?”
Logan’s application came back denied, and the firearm part was withheld from him, the shop’s owner told police.
A background check of Logan’s criminal history would reveal five convictions and two guilty pleas that would prohibit him from purchasing a firearm, including robbery, criminal conspiracy, burglary, possessing an instrument of crime, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, with the earliest dating back to 1984 and the most recent, 2014, according to an affidavit.
Arraigned by District Judge Kirsten Gardner, Logan was released on $35,000 bail.
