Engineering firm announces hiring of municipal planner
Entech Engineering Inc recently announced the hiring of John E. Lavelle III. He joins our team as a municipal planner, expanding Entech’s ability to deliver services to our municipal clients. Lavelle is based in the Williamsport area.
With 19 years of experience in community planning, Lavelle has served in various capacities at the Lycoming County Department of Planning and Community Development, most recently as deputy director.
At Entech, he will focus on assisting our clients with subdivision and zoning needs including ordinance review and amendment processing, floodplain management and the interpretation of FEMA flood mapping products as well as working with state and federal agencies on pre and post disaster grant funding. Along with his experience in both managing grant funds and preparing grant applications, John will also assist Entech’s Funding Team with grant application preparation.

Lavelle holds certifications from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and the International Facility Management Association (CFM). He earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Kutztown University. Lavelle has served as Secretary/Treasurer of the PA Wilds Planning Team and was a founding member of the Pennsylvania Association of Floodplain Managers.
He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and cycling. Lavelle and his wife, Rachel, have two daughters, Alaina and Nora.
