We made it through the extreme heat and very cool temperatures of August and have arrived at Labor Day, which is the unofficial ending of summer. There are many folks that say summer is not over until the fall equinox, which occurs this year on Sept. 22. Mary Alice always says that summer isn’t over until she sees asters in bloom. PGC to meet on Friday at Harrisburg; will allow for public comments

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners will meet on Friday at the Game Commission’s Harrisburg headquarters, 2001 Elmerton Ave. This meeting is one day only and will begin at 10 a.m. with public comments. Those wishing to speak may register beginning at 9:15 a.m. on the day of the meeting. Speakers will be called in the order they register. Recently, Mary Alice and I attended a family reunion at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. Our son Mark and daughter-in-law, Amy, hosted the reunion. All four grandchildren and their spouses and five great-grandchildren attended. We met a 4-month-old grandson from Washington State for the first time.
