Two face charges for assault in separate incidents

City man jailed on assault-related charges

Already out on supervised bail, Cody Allen Ruhl ended up in the Lycoming County Prison on a new set of charges after allegedly making threats Monday night against a Community Options Residential Home female supervisor. Ruhl is enrolled in the special residential home program.

While being treated at UPMC Williamsport for an undisclosed problem, Ruhl, 22, of 440 Woodland Ave., told a member of the medical staff that he “was going to get into a fist fight” with the female supervisor, who supposedly was in the room with the two and heard the remark, according to an affidavit filed by hospital police. The court document stated that Ruhl had already hit another female community options employee with a piece of future.

Ruhl admitted to a police officer that he would “beat” the female supervisor if he got the chance. He stated he “had issues with the (home) staff,” police said. Following his arraignment before District Judge Aaron Biichle on charges of aggravated and simple assault as well as harassment, Ruhl was locked up in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Charges filed after pellet gun fired at two males

Todd Michael Stephens, 59, of 802 Hepburn St., has been charged with two counts each of recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and harassment after shooting two male acquaintances on his porch with a pellet gun on July 29, city police alleged in an affidavit. Both males sought medical treatment for “puncture-wound” injuries, police said. Stephens has waived his preliminary hearing before Biichle and is free on $5,000 bail.

Starting at $2.99/week.
