Calvary Baptist congregation finds temporary home at Central Baptist

Area firefighters work at the scene of a fire at Calvary Baptist Church in Williamsport Wednesday evening. The fire severly damaged the church that broke out around 8pm and was officially reported as under control at 9:53. “The age of the building, the combustability of the timbers in the structure. This is just a nightmare,” Woodruff, himself a volunteer for several years, said. The structure is about 135 years old, he said. DAVE KENNEDY/Sun-Gazette

The investigation continues into the cause of the fire at Calvary Baptist Church in Williamsport.
