The house fire at 6097 Pleasant Valley Road, Eldred Township on March 25, has been ruled arson by the state fire marshal unit, according to a news release.

The fire displaced the Rooney family and their dog, who alerted them to the fire that night.

The fire began on the front porch and fire debris that was collected tested positive that an accelerant was present on the front porch, the news release added.
