New chiropractic clinic in Williamsport offers experience, passion for holistic health

Ascend Chiropractic & Wellness Center is a culmination of a local couple’s professional experience and passion for holistic health, offering new therapies and treatments unavailable anywhere else in Williamsport under one roof.
While finishing up chiropractic school, Logan and Suzie Yerger were working on a final project together to develop a business plan for an office of their own and realized their strong connection could also create a dynamically effective business partnership.
“That was 10 years ago,” the couple said. “So we’ve had a lot of time to brainstorm.”
The new business, located at 1124 Market St., in Williamsport, offers family and sports oriented chiropractic care five days a week while also bringing pioneering therapies to the Williamsport area.
“We have a red light therapy room with pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF), two types of sauna, cold plunges, mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy, vibration plates, and compression boots,” the Yergers said. “We want to facilitate wellness transformations by offering holistic mind and body centered services and education.”
Ascend is serving people looking for proactive, preventative healthcare through scientifically-supported therapies and aim to deliver top-notch, case-specific chiropractic care, they said.
Holistically, Ascend is educating and guiding people toward mental and physical wellness, and that all starts with the space they’ve carefully curated to be the center of that mission.
Ascend’s office was designed to create a space that was freeing as an escape for the anxiety, solitude, and general static that sometimes comes with life these days, they said.
“We tried our best to theme our space in a way that people learn a little bit about us before they even meet us,” the Yergers said. “We value community and nature, and building community through natural health, and I think everyone gets that when they step in and see the mountainscape Suzie painted in the waiting room.
“I think the path we took to create the environment and energy that people see when they walk into our office is pretty notable,” the couple said. “We are one of the first proactive health centers in Pennsylvania that is not located in one of the state’s larger cities.”
After the couple finished their clinical rotations in Buffalo, NY, they almost stayed and started working there, but returned to Williamsport, Logan’s hometown.
“We acquired some great experience as associate chiropractors, spending over seven years doing that before some major family life changes occurred,” the Yergers said. “It was ultimately the birth of our daughter that allowed us to see through the lens of pursuing our dream and it became hard to take those glasses off.”
The couple carried that experience and built the business from the ground up, running a few phases of a soft launch through July and August. Ascend started its fully-staffed hard launch in the beginning of September.
“We took July and August to refine our procedures and hire and train staff thoroughly,” the couple said. “We struck gold in hiring Trisha Rockwell and Emily Merryman to serve as our ‘assistant managers’ as they share our belief in this vision and pour their hearts into achieving it.”
A large piece of Ascend’s goal is making a positive impact on the community and sharing their knowledge on the importance of wellness in that community.
In the few months since opening, Ascend has sponsored a triathlon, held a benefit for a young local with pediatric cancer, and are hosting a running clinic next month.
“We’ve had some truly incredible people come in and we all agree that hearing pieces of everyone’s life stories has been the best,” they said. “The initial feedback we’ve gotten is that people feel like a part of something when they join the office. We wanted to set up the flow of the place in a way that invites our clients crossing paths to maybe get to know each other organically and not forcefully. The little community we’ve built already is really something that feels good.”
Ascend is having its Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.
“If we can inspire people to care more about their current and future wellness, I’d say we’re accomplishing what we set out to do,” Yerger said.
The chiropractic office is open Monday through Friday and the therapies and equipment as part of their wellness center are available Tuesday through Saturday and can be found on social media.
