Work to start Memorial Avenue neighborhood alliance underway in Williamsport

A Williamsport neighborhood is coming together after a deadly shooting last month. Kevin Mackey of Memorial Avenue recently told the City Council of efforts to form a neighborhood alliance. During public comment, he thanked Williamsport Bureau of Police for the quick action officers took at the scene on June 29. Details of Williamsport paving plans shared

It’s the height of summer and the asphalt and paving crews are on streets in the City of Williamsport, getting the work done before the Little League World Series and students and staff return to schools and colleges. Contractor M & J Excavation began paving and will continue for the next two weeks or so, according to city Department of Public Works. Muncy Borough Council at its July meeting approved a code enforcement resolution that could mean stiffer consequences for habitual offenders of the property maintenance and nuisance ordinance. “It’s an opportunity for us to be more aggressive,” Borough Manager Charles Hall said.
