Richard C. Cipriani
Richard C. Cipriani, 83, of Williamsport, entered into the kingdom of Heaven on March 3, 2017, after a courageous seven-month battle. He was surrounded by his loving family as he took his last breath on Earth and his first breath in Heaven.
He was born Oct. 19, 1933, in Williamsport, a seven-month premature baby weighing only two pounds with a strong heart to Richard Sr. and Violet (Richey) Cipriani.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and in the Reserves for 13 years. He retired from Sprout Waldron in Muncy as a machinist after 40 years of service. He was an avid wood worker, enjoyed building furniture for his family, fishing, reading the Bible daily and watching football and basketball. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and telling childhood stories.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Joseph and Anthony; and sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Roger Kurtz.
Surviving him are his wife the former Peggy M. Page, with whom they enjoyed 56 wonderful years together; a daughter, Linda M. Cipriani, of Williamsport; two sons, Michael R., of Williamsport and Nick Cipriani, of South Williamsport; four sisters, Martha (Arnold) Rider, of Muncy, Josephine (Robert) Stiber, of Loyalsock Township, Joanne (Doug) Laidacker, of Williamsport and Dawn (William) Phillips, of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by the Korean War Veterans Honor Guard of Lycoming County. Friends and family will be received at the funeral home from 12:30-2 p.m.
