Louis A. Stanzione

Louis A. Stanzione, 98, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Hillside Senior Assisted Living. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. Stanzione, who preceded him in death on January 4, 2008.

Born in Williamsport on August 11, 1927, to Anthony J. and Anna Stanzione, Louis grew up in a loving family alongside his siblings, Frances Nardi, Delores Fortner, the late John Stanzione, and the late Catherine Reidy. His life was a testament to hard work, service, and the joy of family.

A proud graduate of Williamsport Area High School in 1945, Louis furthered his education at Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a successful career, culminating in his retirement as Chief Engineer from Bethlehem Wirerope in 1993.

Louis was proud to serve his country in the Navy during the Korean War. His commitment to service continued in his local community, where he previously served as a member of the Newberry Lions Club, delighting many by serving cotton candy at the festivals. He also served on the Board of Water Authority and was a guiding force on the committee at Ascension Catholic Church where he also served as a Lectern.

An avid sports fan, Louis’s enthusiasm for Penn State and Williamsport sports was infectious. He also shared his wisdom by teaching the Dale Carnegie course in “Drivers of Success,” inspiring many with his insights on leadership and personal development.

Louis loved being outdoors golfing and gardening. He also enjoyed bowling and even made an impressive 300 game on March 26, 2002. Volunteering was second nature to Louis. He dedicated countless hours to the Williamsport Hospital and Divine Providence Hospital as an information desk greeter and mail delivery volunteer, and shared his woodworking projects for Habitat for Humanity.

Louis’s legacy is lovingly carried on by his children, Terry Stanzione (Laurie), Debbie Freedman (Ed), Ann Thompson (Jim), and Sandy Conti (Frank); his adored grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsey), Amanda (Justin), Michael (Katrina), Alexa (Thomas), Chelsea (Chris), Evan (Taylor); and his cherished great-grandchildren, Nolan, Ayla, Finley, Harper, Hannah, Dylan, Thomas, Jane, Evelyn, Therese, and Louise; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Louis will be held 10 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Burial will be private in Wildwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Louis’s name to Habitat for Humanity, 335 Rose St., Williamsport, PA 17701, and/or to a charity of one’s choice.
