Carol Diane Norman

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Carol Diane Norman, 90, of Selinsgrove on December 15, 2025, at home.

She was born on October 31, 1935, to the late Jacob and Edna (Hassinger) Wagner on the Isle of Que, Selinsgrove.

Carol was a 1953 graduate of Selinsgrove High School.

On December 27, 1953, she married the love of her life, Richard Norman, who survives.

Carol attended St. Paul’s UCC for most of her life and was a faithful member of the Adelphia Sunday School Class. Later she joined Christ United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove, where she was involved in many activities. She enjoyed attending Bible Study class with her friends and being a member of God’s Grownups with Agapeland Preschool.

She found joy in life’s quiet and beautiful moments. She enjoyed coloring, reading, and working crossword puzzles. She took great pleasure in gardening, flowers, and bird watching. She never missed a chance to watch the Phillies and her favorite player JT Realmuto. Carol was known as the neighborhood mom and grandma and was well known for baking Valentine’s Day cupcakes for the family and the entire neighborhood. Most of all, Carol deeply cherished her family, whose love meant everything to her and remained the center of her life.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Richard Norman; son, Ken (Larry) Norman; daughters, Ellen (David) Miller, Jill (Bruce) Reber, and Tricia (Richard) Shipman; six grandchildren, Elaina (Andrew) Richard, Danielle (Austin) Iovoli, Isaac Reber, Jacob (Lindsey) Shipman, Noah and Chloe Shipman; three step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Josh, and Parker Dunbar; two great grandchildren, Luke and Ava Shipman; eight step great grandchildren, Everly, Claira, Miles, Alyee, Aubrey, Hayden, Baxter, and Gary, as well as many special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris and Arlene; and two brothers, Gene and Jack.

A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service which will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Christ United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove with Rev. David Keyworth officiating.

Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Selinsgrove, following the service.
