They just can’t let it go

What they (the Democrats) can’t let go is their absolute control over government and our very lives, as exemplified in Verna Caruso’s op-ed of March 3rd. Donald Trump is killing America.” Under Barack, racism saw a massive spike and crime went up as respect for law enforcement and the law itself went down the toilet. Our standing in the world suffered with him bowing to other leaders and degrading our military while Putin saw and took the opportunity to go into Ukraine. Then, Joe, who barely knew which end was up, degraded our military and law enforcement even more with his ...

Wake up

I had a hard time reading the rubbish in the March 3 op-ed column, “Rest in peace, United States of America.” The writer says Trump is murdering this country. USAID should be dismantled after we saw that they are sending money to terrorist countries and terrorist organizations. Then you have the millions of illegal immigrants along with the cartels bringing in deadly drugs, sex trafficking and slave trafficking. The Biden regime did everything they could to destroy this country and if you supported them, you are part of it. Give me one good reason why we should support an ...

The educated among us

It never ceases to amaze me how the “PhD’s, MBA’s and other so called educated people among us can be such morons. Perhaps when you are that “educated “ you can completely remove yourself from reality and the pain and suffering us common people have endured under the previous administration. McCormick strikes out

Pennsylvania Senator Dave McCormick claims he scrutinized every nominee for the president’s cabinet. “I’ve sat down with every single nominee,” he said. “I’ve watched their hearings carefully, and so when I’ve given my vote of support it’s based on being informed.” Really? McCormick voted to confirm Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense—a former Fox TV host with no senior military experience, a serious drinking problem, accusations of sexual assault, and a record of financial mismanagement. He voted for Kash Patel for FBI Director – a conspiracy theorist with ...

The servant, not the master

I must disagree with the Washington Post editorial, published on page A4 of the Sun-Gazette’s Feb. 28 edition titled, “Mass firings backfiring.” The DOGE folks have let go many federal employees newly hired by the Biden Administration. Our federal government is bloated and many employees are still “working from home” due to Covid. Why? Fewer than 10% report to their office workplace. Trump wants 100% to come to the office so they can work more efficiently. Pajamas are no longer optional. The federal government, in theory, is limited by the Constitution, but that is not the ...

Good things?

I want some of what local Republican legislators were drinking at the recent Lincoln Day dinner (Williamsport Sun-Gazette, Feb. 25, p. A1). “So many good things happening”? Tell that to the researchers whose funding for studies on cancer, brain injuries and heart disease, among others, has been frozen. Or to the veterans who have lost support for medical and burial services because of canceled contracts. Or, perhaps, to the farmers Rep. Glenn Thompson applauded at the event, and who now can’t access grant money they had been promised to help with building fences or planting ...
