Spare us the sermons

In your May 6th column quoting other newspapers calling for us to “move beyond hatred and division,” I couldn’t help but think: that’s rich. It’s a bit like watching the arsonist return to the scene with a garden hose and a lecture on fire safety. For years, the Sun-Gazette has given generous column inches to letters and editorials that stoked the very division you now suggest we transcend. Under both Obama and Biden, you printed screeds that weren’t just critical, but often laced with paranoia, resentment, and barely concealed contempt — not for policies, but for people. ...

Use your common sense

We have all seen what the Democrats have done to our country over the past four years. So in Jersey Shore Region 3, on May 20th, if your thinking of writing-in a Democrat's name for school director you better think twice. The write-in candidate asking for your vote is far left of center and is pro-woke and has defended Transgender issues during school directors meetings at the administration building. It’s a matter of record. So, do you think you will get even if you write-in her name because a school was closed? Or would you prefer to see woke indoctrination and biological born ...

Patriotism demands noncompliance

The state House of Representatives are presenting bills to reign in judges imposing their will, over constitutional authority. The US Constitution, enshrines a republic for all states. Jesus came to ...

After two days of fighting, our Marines left ...but abandoned several of their troops on the beach. These young men were captured and executed by the Khymer Rouge and, even though the war in Vietnam was over in 1973, their names are on “The Wall” in Washington DC. The Republican Administration made the decision to abandon those young men. Do you really think if things went ...

Harvard’s ‘billions-for-trillions’ trade-off

The medical breakthroughs achieved by Harvard Medical School have been documented by the Economic Impact Analysis Report on Medical Innovations from the National Bureau of Economic Research and the NIH Funding Data Overview of the National Institutes of Health. These studies also compared the estimated monetary benefit of these discoveries to the cost of Federal grants to Harvard. Here are a few examples of Harvard’s medical research achievements: In the early 1920s, researchers at Harvard Medical School played a crucial role in discovering and developing insulin therapy for ...
