Vote in November

In November, vote Republican if you are fine with: Policies that make groceries, rent, homes, and medicine harder to afford every year. Tariffs that raise prices and crush small businesses. An administration pushing rapid, unchecked growth of massive data centers. A war that drags on long after leaders promised it wouldn’t. Foreign policy that creates more enemies than solutions. Energy spikes brushed off while Americans pay the price at the pump. Funding freezes, staff cuts, and FEMA shake‑ups that weaken disaster response, food safety, and public health ...

AI needs a Constitution

Artificial intelligence is advancing at an extraordinary pace. Within a few years, AI systems may make decisions in medicine, finance, transportation, defense, scientific research, and critical infrastructure that exceed any individual human’s understanding. That potential offers enormous benefits, but it also creates unprecedented risks. The central question is no longer whether AI will become more capable, but whether it will remain aligned with human values. Good intentions are not enough. Advanced AI should be designed so that it is structurally prevented from violating ...

They don’t deserve your vote

Despite controlling the House, Senate, White House, and Supreme Court, Republicans just can’t manage to accomplish anything for the American people. Rubber-stamp Republicans, however, have no problem enriching the Mar-a-Lago class and serving a corrupt and incompetent president who has said “affordability is a hoax,” gas prices are “peanuts,” and he “doesn’t care about inflation.” Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” eliminated food assistance for needy children and will cause 10–15 million Americans to lose health insurance while another 22 million face skyrocketing ...

Fantastic

The Great Lakes Wind Symphony (GLWS) held a concert at the Howard Theater in the Williamsport Scottish Rite facility on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23. In one word, it was FANTASTIC! Different from the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, this is a wind ensemble with no string instruments. A symphonic band is more familiar to most people, typically larger and includes string instruments. GLWS focuses on American composers including arrangements by the conductor himself. The concerts are based on timely themes, this past weekend’s being “For the Love of the Game” that ...

Was it worth it?

I am close to having lived 9 decades. Three of which was in the service of my country. However, I wonder if it was all worth it. I really wonder how those who fought in two world wars and two peace keeping missions feel. The concept of defending America by saving Europe and Asia in order to keep America safe was instilled in the youth of America and the American people. The Country was safe in the early years because it had two oceans protecting it. As time went on, those oceans were not so protective because science and engineering made any place on the planet easy targets via aircraft ...
