Clover Lindsay and Allie Eberhart have been diving together for awhile now. Growing up, they competed with one another in gymnastics and now, they cheer one another on while jumping on a diving board.
On Saturday, the duo competed with one another once again. Not many schools seem to bring divers anymore, so Lindsay and Eberhart simply dive against each other most of the time.
That friendship is a friendly rivalry these days and on Saturday, Lindsay got the better of her friend on the score cards. Lindsay won the event with a score of 180.95 on Saturday while teammate Eberhart scored a 129.75.
“None of my hurdles went well, but I didn’t do too bad,” Lindsay said. “I didn’t do great, but ehh.”
Lindsay noted that she was planning on doing different dives on Saturday, but during warm ups, it wasn’t going the way she hoped for. But even with a new set of dives, she still did solid with her attempts.

“I was planning on doing a whole different list, but warm ups didn’t go that well,” Lindsay said. “(I need to work on) my front double. My twists, everything washed over today, I don’t know what it was.”
Lindsay’s best dive was her fourth attempt when doing a inward dive, one-and-one-half somersault, tuck position which netted a 6, 6 1/2 and 6 from the judges. On her third dive — a backward dive, pike position — Lindsay scored a 6, 6 1/2 and 5 1/2 and, on her final attempt, Lindsay recorded a seven from the judges. She did a reverse dive, pike position and scored a 6 1/2, 7 and 5.
Lindsay’s first dive was a backward dive, one-and-one-half somersault, half twist, free position in which she scored a 4 1/2, 4 1/2 and 3 1/2. In the second attempt, she scored a 4, 4 and 3 1/2 with a backward dive, one somersault, one-and-one-half twist, free position.
Eberhart opened Saturday’s competition with a 6, 5 1/2 and 4 when she did a forward dive, one somersault, one twist and free position. On her second attempt, Eberhart scored a 5, 4 1/2 and 4 on a reverse dive, tuck position.
Eberhart’s best dive was a 5 1/2, 6 and 4 1/2 on her fourth attempt on an inward dive, pike position. The Millionaire scored a 6, 6 1/2 and 5 1/2 on her third dive with a backward dive, pike position.

Having Eberhart competing with her helps motivate Lindsay to do her best and vice versa. You can hear both cheering each other on from the side of the diving board when they go up to dive.
“Yeah (we feed off each other),” Lindsay said. “I enjoy diving together. We were teammates in gymnastics before.”
An unfortunate failed dive on the fifth attempt prevented Eberhart from possibly winning as she had scored at least a five on all four of her previous attempts. On her final dive, Eberhart scored a 4 1/2, 4 1/2 and 4 on a forward dive, two somersault, pike position.
Lindsay noted that she got into diving because of her sister Lily, who was a senior in 2023-24 when Clover was a freshman.
“I was forced (into diving), she forced me,” Lindsay said with a laugh. “I enjoy it though.”
