One week after welcoming its first female member, the District 4 Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame will add seven more inductees before the finals of the District 4 wrestling tournament on Saturday evening at Williamsport High School.

Kimberly Spiegel, a Selinsgrove graduate, was inducted into the Hall of Fame before the finals of the girls tournament last weekend. A member of the United State women’s freestyle team, Spiegel was a two-time FILA Cadet national champion, a Cadet Pan American games champion and runner-up two-time Junior Nationals Fargo champion, and a two-time NCWA folkstyle national champion.

On Saturday night Allan McCollum, Dave Campbell, Dan Wright, Luke Frey, Nate Shirk, Mike Rhone, Richard Maynoard will be inducted.

McCollum, a Shikellamy graduate, was a two-time District 4 champion and a state qualifier for the Braves, At Bloomsburg University he compiled an 85-30-2 record, earning EWL and PSAC championships. McCollum also coached at Shamokin, North Penn, and Susquenita during his 30-year teaching career.

Campbell, a Line Mountain graduate, wrestled at Lycoming College and later coached at South Williamsport where his teams forged a 70-40 record with four placewinners at the state tournament. Campbell also spent nearly 20 years as a member of the District 4 wrestling committee.

Wright wrestled at Lycoming College where he was a Middle Atlantic Conference runner-up and national qualifier. At Montoursville, Wright was the head coach for 14 years and an assistant coach for 20 years and produced nine district champions, seven regional champions, 20 state qualifiers, and five state placewinners. He also was a wrestling official for 26 years.

Frey, a Montoursville graduate, amassed a 157-5 record with 4 sectional, district, and regional championships and at the state tournament he placed first, fourth, second and third. Frey wrestled at Penn State where he was a member of three NCAA championship teams, starting at 157 pounds his senior year.

Shirk, a Middleburg graduate, compiled a 119-17 record with 4 sectional championships and a district and regional championship his senior year. At the state tournament Shirk was a two-time sixth- place finisher and a state runner-up his senior season. A Bloomsburg University Shirk was a four-year starter, an EWL runner-up, and a national qualifier.

Rhone, a Benton graduate, amassed a 135-19 record with three sectional championships, two district championships, two northeast regional titles, and a pair of state medals. At St. Cloud State University, Rhone had a career record of 83-28 and was an All-American.

Maynard, a Wellsboro graduate, wrestled four year for the Hornets with an undefeated senior season. At the University of Maryland, Maynard was a two-time ACC champion.
