Hughesville boys, girls sweep competition at multi-dual at Warrior Run

TURBOTVILLE — Hughesville’s boys and girls track and field teams swept the competition at a multi-dual at Warrior Run on Tuesday. On the boys side, Hughesville beat Warrior Run (91-59), Southern Columbia (102-43), Montgomery (109-35) and Sullivan County (126-15). The Defenders beat Southern (90-44), Montgomery (90-44) and Warrior Run (114-18) and Montgomery beat Sullivan (57-35). Sullivan fell to Southern (55-40) and Montgomery fell to Southern (51-40). Lock Haven baseball falls to Clarion on road

DUBOIS - The Lock Haven baseball team returned to Clarion to finish its rain-shortened contest from earlier in the season and fell 9-2 to conclude a four-game Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) series on Tuesday. Clarion built a 5-0 lead through three innings on March 22 before the game was called due to rain. Clutch hitting leads LHU softball to sweep over Slippery Rock

LOCK HAVEN - The Lock Haven softball team used a strong bullpen and timely hitting to edge Slippery Rock in a pair of one-run games, 5-4 (8 Innings) and 8-7, to earn a sweep in its final non-conference doubleheader of the year. The sweep moves Lock Haven to 28-20 on the season. The Haven’s 28 wins are the most for the program since winning 32 in 2019. Slippery Rock falls to 25-15 on the year. It's been a challenging start for central Pennsylvania racing between the cold and the rain and last weekend was no exception. Selinsgrove was the best choice for sprint cars to get their race in.  Mark Smith picked up his first win of the year over a fast closing Chase Dietz as Dietz settled for second, followed by Austin Bishop, Ryan Taylor and Jody Lehman. PCT women's tennis reaches first conference championship

For the first time in the program's NCAA-era, Penn College's women's tennis team will be featured in a conference championship match as the third-seeded Wildcats upset No. 2 seed Penn State Harrisburg, 4-0, on Tuesday and advances to Sunday's United East Conference Championship. Penn College improved to 9-10 on the season, while Harrisburg is finished at 9-8 overall.
