Seniors Trace Wertz and Andrew Walter made their final games at South Williamsport quite memorable Wednesday afternoon. Wertz his his first high school home run in his final at-bat there, while Walter went 2 for 2 with three runs as South routed North Penn-Mansfield, 13-1 in five innings. Freshman Garrett Lorson also had two hits and earned his first pitching win, throwing three strong innings. Penn College archers have high hopes for national competition

A year ago, Penn College saw its five-year drought of All-American archers end when Casey Keiter became No. 44. This season, coach Dustin Bartron expects what had previously become an annual tradition that produced 43 archers earning the coveted status 88 times to continue. Fifteen Wildcats will be among those competing from across the country Thursday through Sunday at the USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals in East Lansing, Michigan. Bucknell reaches first Patriot League final since the 2023 season

LEWISBURG — The Bucknell baseball team swept Navy with a 6-4 win in game two of the Patriot League semifinal series on Monday afternoon at Depew Field at Marren Park to advance to the Patriot League Championship series for the first time since 2023. With Holy Cross’s sweep over Army in the other semifinal series, the Bison will host the Crusaders for the championship series at Depew Field at Marren Park from May 18-20. Mifflinburg’s Botts, Hughesville’s Rainey set to coach D4 all-star game

Mifflinburg’s Cody Botts and Hughesville’s Howard Rainey will man the helms as coaches of this year’s District 4 North-South All-Star game. Botts will be the head coach of the South team while Rainey will lead the North. This year’s all-star game takes place on Friday, June 19 at Milton’s Alumni Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. At halftime the Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be enshrined.
