Cade Lusk started Friday’s game at Midd-West the best way possible and pitcher Cole Gerber dominated from there as South Williamsport won, 8-1. Lusk smashed a lead-off home run and had a huge day, going 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two steals, while Gerber threw six innings of two-hit baseball. Gerber also struck out nine as South (9-4) won for the ninth time in 11 games. Marc Molina went 3 for 4, hitting a double, driving in a run and scoring three times. David Bjorkman earned a three-set victory at No. 3 singles for Loyalsock against Danville, but that would unfortunately be the Lancers’ lone victory as the Ironmen earned a 4-1 win in the District 4 boys tennis team tournament quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals. The win moves the Ironmen to 15-2. Bjorkman beat Colin Sauers in the three-set thriller. Bjorkman earned a first-set win, 6-3, and then fell 6-3 in the second set.
